Lactobacillus reuteri LRDR™ is the strain that started Bacilibloom. It is the culture Dr. William Davis recommends in his book Super Gut, sold as MyReuteri™, and the one most of our customers first come to us for.

You can have L. reuteri LRDR™ in any of our four A2 yogurts, made fresh to order and delivered across the Klang Valley.

What is L. reuteri?

L. reuteri is a lactic acid bacterium that lives naturally in the human gut, mouth and breast milk. Dr. Davis argues that many people today carry little or none of it, after decades of antibiotics, processed food and changes in how we live. Restoring it is the idea behind his approach.

Like every probiotic, L. reuteri comes in many strains. The letters after the name matter: effects found for one strain do not automatically apply to another. LRDR™ is the specific strain Dr. Davis uses, and it is the one we use.

What the research suggests

Much of the interest in L. reuteri comes from studies on its effects beyond digestion:

  • Oxytocin. In laboratory studies on mice, L. reuteri raised levels of oxytocin, the hormone tied to bonding, calm and social connection. Dr. Davis links this to the mood and sleep changes people describe.
  • Skin and healing. The same line of mouse research reported healthier skin and fur and faster wound healing.
  • Bone. In a study of older women in Sweden, a strain of L. reuteri (ATCC PTA 6475) reduced bone loss over a year compared with a placebo.
  • Digestion. L. reuteri is one of the most studied probiotic species for gut comfort, in children and adults.

Much of this research is early, used different strains, or was done in animals. It explains why people are interested in L. reuteri, not a promise of what it will do for you.

What people notice

Customers usually describe everyday changes first: smoother digestion, deeper sleep and a lighter mood. Some describe feeling calmer or more connected to the people around them, which is why we call it the Love Maker.

Why yogurt instead of a capsule

A capsule gives you a fixed dose. Fermenting the culture in milk for 36 hours lets it multiply many times over, so a serving can carry billions of live bacteria, along with the compounds they make while they grow. This is the method Dr. Davis describes, and the one we follow.

How we make it

Each L. reuteri batch starts with a MyReuteri™ LRDR™ capsule as the live culture. We ferment it slowly in A2 milk for 36 hours. Each new batch is started from the previous one, which keeps the culture strong and the quality consistent.

Is it right for you?

L. reuteri is a good starting point if sleep, mood or skin are what you care about most. Our yogurt is not suitable for children. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a weakened immune system or a medical condition, check with your doctor first.

How to order your L. reuteri LRDR™ yogurt

When you choose L. reuteri LRDR™, we ferment it into your yogurt slowly for 36 hours in A2 milk, with nothing else added: no sugar, gums, thickeners or preservatives. Start with a 100g jar to try it, or choose 450g or 900g if you are making it a daily habit.
