Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis EVC001 is the Guardian Infant among our strains. Its story starts with breast milk.
You can have B. infantis EVC001 in any of our four A2 yogurts, made fresh to order and delivered across the Klang Valley.
What is B. infantis?
B. infantis is a bifidobacterium that has evolved alongside humans for a very long time. In breastfed babies it was traditionally one of the most common gut bacteria, because it is specialised to digest human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), sugars in breast milk that babies cannot digest themselves.
EVC001 is a specific strain of B. infantis developed in the United States.
What the research suggests
Most research on EVC001 has been done in breastfed infants. In those studies, babies given EVC001 had:
- high levels of B. infantis settling in their gut
- fewer potentially harmful bacteria
- lower markers of gut inflammation
Research in adults is still early. Adults choose it because of what it does in a young gut, not because the same results have been shown in grown-ups.
Why adults choose it
People with a sensitive gut, or who react to foods that others tolerate easily, often choose B. infantis. Its reputation is for calming the gut and supporting digestion.
Is it right for you?
EVC001 is a good fit if a sensitive gut is your main concern. Our yogurt is made for adults and is not suitable for children. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a weakened immune system or a medical condition, check with your doctor first.
How to order your EVC001 yogurt
When you choose B. infantis EVC001, we ferment it into your yogurt slowly for 36 hours in A2 milk, with nothing else added: no sugar, gums, thickeners or preservatives. Start with a 100g jar to try it, or choose 450g or 900g if you are making it a daily habit.
